For our 10th Anniversary we spent a few days together in New York City. Sherrie's Mom came to Philadelphia to take care of our kids while we were gone. We are so grateful for the time we were able to spend together- celebrating our love, friendship, marriage, and family!
New York is a fun place to visit with so much to do! You could spend weeks there and still not see everything (and spend way too much money doing it!)
Here are just a few of the fun things we saw:
We walked all around Central Park and visited many of the fun things there.
Belvedere Castle

Bethesda Terrace- Most every scenic place we went had a "starving" musician playing music for money. At this location two artists were playing at the same time in the same spot. One had to leave. I don't know if they arrange for time slots to play or what.
We decided to play a friendly game of checkers at the Chess and Checkers House. A funny thing happened when we asked the docents about the official rules- none of them knew how to play and they had to look them up!
The first night there we saw the Phantom of the Opera. This is the Theater. Of course, it was a wonderful performance.
Grand Central Station was amazing to see. It was fun to imagine how it operated before technology eliminated the necessity of many things.
This is the great New York Public Library. The architecture is just amazing. It would have been fun to spend a few hours reading, but we had to get on our way.
We also went to the Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral (so beautiful!), Times Square, Macey's, Metropolitan Museum of Art, went to an Opera- "The Barbera de Seville", New York LDS Temple, and stayed in a European Style Hotel.
Thank you, Mom for helping watch the kids while we were gone! We're already dreaming of our next getaway!

it looks like you guys had so much fun. I really look forward to a vacation someday with my hubby...maybe when he gets home next year! I should start planning now.
You went to my mission I have been to all of those places. There is even a member of the church who works a the St. Patrick's Cathedral! At least when I was there ten years ago.
